Yes I have texted before. I always text to
my children. They text all the time. I'm
fairly comfortable texting, however I don't
use text lingo and still am not too familiar
with using caps or punctuation. Looking at
Lingo 2 Word did help. I knew a few but
some of those they showed I never would
have guessed. I firmly believe you should
never text and drive at the same time.
I think it's bad enough when one is talking
on the phone and driving. Too much distraction.
No wonder there's so many accidents.
Texting is a great tool - that is how our manager
was able to send us messages during Hurricane
Ike. It was great. We were able to know that
all our employees were ok. So YEAH for texting.

SPRING CLEANING #28 -Don't Clutter Up Expensive Cyperspace
In this exercise, I created a ta-da list
for things I don't want to forget for my
"once in a lifetime" trip to Perth, Australia
in 5 days! I then emailed it to my home email
address, which I will be able to look up and
have readily available. I haven't done this
in so long, but I did manage.

WEEK 10 # 23 - IS THIS REALLY THE END?
HIP HIP HOORAY!!!
I really cannot believe what I
accomplished in doing 23 things.
I was very much in the dark when
it came to any of these things
we did on IHCPL. Thank you for
giving me the chance to explore and
reach out beyond my limitations.
Each exercise was something new and
challenging, yet exciting. I love
the Library Elf, You Tube, posting
pictures and the downloadable media.
It has given me much more confidence.
And now I even have a BLOG. Who would
have thought!

WEEK 9 # 22 - Downloadable Media
This was fun. Ever since
my daughter's wedding, I love
listening to string quartet music
and I found a site where I can
download that type of music.
Also saw some mystery books and
cookbooks, my favorites. I found
that HCPL's digital site was much
easier to manuver around and clearer
to understand than the free sites.
I would definitely use this site.

WEEK 9 # 21 - Podcasts, Smodcasts
This was quite interesting.
I found several podcasts that
were quite interesting. There was
one called "Princeton Review
Vocabulary Minute" where you
can learn 4 words in 60 seconds
just with the short songs they
teach you. Kids know all the words
to songs, but don't have a clue
what their teacher just said. Then
also there was the "Thomas Ford
Memorial Library" which does teen
reviews on books. That's pretty neat
to get them involved. Also "Commuter
Reviews" where this man has an hour
commute and he will review books, movies
or music that you email him. Get someone's
opinion which sometimes can be helpful.

Week 5 # 11- A Thing About Library Thing
It was quite easy getting the
books, but had a bit of trouble
tranferring it to my blog. Still
not sure if I did it correctly.
